Fire doors are a critical part of a building's passive fire protection system, helping to contain fire and smoke while protecting escape routes and adjoining areas.

• MarKe undertakes fire door installation, replacement, upgrading, inspection and maintenance across a wide range of building types.
• Works can include doors, frames, ironmongery, self-closing devices, intumescent and smoke seals and associated fire stopping around the opening.
• We pay particular attention to the complete doorset and its installation, helping ensure each element works together as intended rather than treating the door leaf in isolation.

Compartmentation divides a building into fire-resistant sections, helping restrict the movement of fire and smoke from one area to another.

• MarKe installs, repairs and upgrades fire-resisting walls, floors, ceilings, shaft walls and associated barriers as part of both planned and remedial works.
• Particular attention is given to junctions, voids and openings created by building services.
• A compartment is only as effective as its weakest point, so penetrations and interfaces must be considered as part of the complete construction.

Every pipe, cable, duct or other service that passes through a fire-resisting wall or floor has the potential to compromise that barrier if the opening around it is not properly protected.

• MarKe provides fire stopping to service penetrations, construction joints, openings and voids using appropriate tested fire-stopping systems.
• This can include penetration seals, fire-rated compounds and mastics, fire collars, wraps, boards and other specialist systems selected to suit the construction and services passing through it.
• Careful installation is particularly important in concealed areas such as risers, cupboards and ceiling voids, where defects can otherwise remain unnoticed.

Concealed cavities can allow fire and smoke to travel through a building without being immediately visible.

• Cavity barriers are installed within these hidden spaces to restrict that movement and maintain the intended fire separation of the building.
• MarKe installs cavity barriers within wall, façade, roof and ceiling constructions where required, paying close attention to junctions, openings and interfaces with surrounding materials.
